Medewell is a non-governmental organisation established to help in the government efforts at poverty reduction strategy.Tanzania is a country with a large population of very poor people who have no resources of their own to improve their living conditions and Medewell tries to assist in provision of basic needs in 3 areas-water,medical and education.

The name Medewell is an acronym for "Medical, Education, Wells".

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has many goals to achieve but very limited resources, with the result that the social services do not receive the attention and financial resources needed to alleviate poverty in the country.

Medical Department:

The ongoing medical facilities provided with a consultation fee of US cents 20 per patient hardly covers any cost. The Kibaha Medical Centre requires a minimum of US$ 2500 per month to run. Any donation towards helping to defray the expenses,however small, is welcome.
